London Toy Fair and Other News

The London Toy Fair was on at full swing when we started to write this post and Bill was down South hunting out new brands.
It seems deathly quiet in Hebden Bridge and this in part could be attributed to the outrageously long lasting roadworks on the main road at Mytholmroyd.

Despite conscientious work being undertaken by Robert A Williams and also Visit Hebden Bridge in promoting the independent shops in and around Hebden Bridge, we can do little more as independents to increase footfall and this time of year can be especially quiet for trade around here, so any spend, no matter how small, really helps us.

Bill is hunting for new and exciting products, plus being interviewed for the Toy Fair magazine, article below. At this time of year in Silly Billy’s we look at changing products around and one product we are interested to know your opinion on is Dolls. Dolls at SIlly Billy’s made a good start though their sales have not been what we expected so if you would fill out this form it would really help us to better gauge how popular Dolls may be

Time moves on and now Bill is at Spring Fair in Birmingham, this is an annual visit, although this time he has gone with our neighbours, Homely at Hebden, to source out some new and exciting suppliers for 2018.

As promised here are the articles from Bill Deakin that were written in the London Toy Fair News:

Other News

We are approaching the last two weeks of the School Summer Holidays, the Summer hasn’t been very kind so far and as usual the weather in Hebden Bridge has been somewhat on the dire side.
We have been quite busy re-stocking and our Dolls Selection was hit quite hard though now we are back to the full compliment of Dolls including Mia at £9.99, and Isabella in her car seat. Yesterday Talking Tammy and Little Treasure from Doll’s World also made an appearance. We have some doll’s pushchairs in stock as well, we are probably the only supplier of Doll’s Pushchairs in the Calder Valley.

We are increasing our product range as is usual at this time of year and in the run-up to Easter. One of the biggest events in Hebden Bridge at Easter is the Hebden Bridge Duck Race and this Easter it falls on Ban Holiday Monday 17th April 2017, to learn more about the Duck Race 2017 and buy a ticket please visit the Rotary Club’s Official Duck Race website at:

We have no idea what the weather will be like in Hebden Bridge on Bank Holiday Mondy 17th April 2017, though Bill, the owner, a meteorological expert, reckons it will be fine and sunny.
